voluntary agencies work collectively to ensure the best possible
outcomes for children and families.
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF A CHILDCARE DEVELOPMENT OFFICER?
Childcare Development Officers (CDO) work to fulfil Fingal CCC?s
vision by planning, implementing, and evaluating a suite of local
level supports that meet the needs of early years & school aged
childhood care services, staff and parents in Fingal.
CDOs also ensure effective administration of childhood care programmes
offered by the Department of Children, Equality, Disability,
Integration and Youth (DCEDIY). CDOs offer online, telephone and
in-person support and advice to services, staff, and parents. They
conduct site visits to support with service self-evaluation and
facilitate training events. They meet regularly with early years &
school aged childhood care services, and their staff and offer
information and advice in respect of quality care and education,
professional standards and the Pre-School Regulations.
CDOs attend relevant meetings and training courses relating to the
provision of services. They form part of a significant network whose
aim is to support and enhance the quality of early years & school aged
childhood care services, and education; committed to effective
interagency working that promotes better outcomes for children.
QUALIFICATION REQUIRED
* QQI level 8 in childcare or business qualification essential
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* Three years? experience in a similar role
* Experience working with stakeholder agencies
* Experience in relevant record keeping
* Experience of a quality programme
Flexibility around working hours is required. Evening work may be
required.
Full driving licence and access to the use of a suitably insured car
essential.
